Nicole Masters, L.Ac. M.S.

Nicole Masters L.Ac, is a California State Certified Acupuncturist and holds a Masters of Science degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Francisco's Potrero Hill neighborhood. She is also nationally certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).

Nicole also apprenticed and studied with Stephen Coleman, L.Ac. muscular skeletal pain specialist while in school as well as participated in several internships at community health clinics. Upon graduation Nicole worked with Sanjay Patel, M.D. at Northern California Rehabilitation Associates in Modesto, CA (2003-2004) working with acute injury and work disability patients. Additionally Nicole is licensed in Washington State (2002) and continues to work with John McEachron, D.C. in his family Chiropractic office in Olympia, WA., when she returns to visit her family at Horseland Farms.
In 2004 Nicole started Golden State Health in order to better serve the needs of the community with the help of her husband, Dan Schneider, a fifth generation native of San Francisco.

Nicole moved to San Francisco in 1994 and was immediately taken by cycling. Having been raised on her family's horse farm and ridden horses all her life, cycling provided the outdoor recreational experience she craved - and was practical in the new urban environment. Shortly thereafter Nicole had a spill while on her bike and suffered a painful elbow injury. In searching for help she was recommended an Acupuncturist who did a marvelous job of treating the injury and inspiring her to learn Chinese Medicine herself.

Nicole is still an active cyclist, and hiker who enjoys being active in the incredible beauty of our local mountains and watersheds. She also lends her support to several local cycling clubs and organizations such as the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition, and the AIDS/Lifecycle 4 ride which raises money for an excellent cause as participants cycle from San Francisco to Los Angeles.
